Milano upsidedown, 2005
For the Columbus Day celebration, Milan’s Town Hall has brought some works by Marco Petrus as a symbol of the Milanese culture. A tour through different locations that will lead to the Italian Institute of Culture where the exhibition will be set up from the 11th to the 26th October.
“Marco Petrus’ art has the merit of clearing this flawed view once and for all. What emerges is an iconic representation of the city, made of solid, colorful architectural elements and details reaching up to the sky, projected into the future with classic style.”
“Putting the work of Marco Petrus on show in New York during the Columbus Day celebrations has a double meaning: to symbolically bring together the souls of the cities of Milan and New York and to compare the Italian and American urban dreams by placing the paintings in the many locations ‘touched’ by the celebrations. The project is an intellectual and cultural challenge and not merely an attempt to publicize and highlight new Italian art.”
