SHADE ABSTRACTIONS

The Shade Abstractions project is born from a collaboration between the architect Carlo Donati and the artist Marco Petrus. The residential building P19 and the adjacent volume with the blades, just completed by Carlo Donati Studio (with the lighting project by Filippo Cannata), have become an inspiration to connect architecture, painting and design, in a sort of triptych of strongly linked elements. The broken lines and the chromatics of the two buildings have been translated in a pure composition of forms and colours through an abstraction process by the artist.
The big site specific painting of Petrus in the hall of the new building and a several room-dividers designed by Donati and decorated by the Milanese artist for the event, will be presented during the Milan Design Week 2019.
